'Golden Years' - An evening in celebration of Scrambling and Motocross in East Anglia in the 1950s to 1970s

On Friday 5th October 2018, a select group of off-road motorcycle aces will assemble at  the John Banks Honda Showroom in Bury St. Edmunds. I will be acting as compere and firing the questions, as we transport our audience back to the halcyon Post WW2 days of motorcycle sport in the region and then talk about the evolution of the sport from the 1950s through until the mid 1970s. With personal recollections from our invited guests, along with slideshows of period photos and film, plus Q&A sessions with the audience.

The event will begin at 7:00 pm and our guests for the evening are: Jim Aim, John Banks, Bill Brooker (Former Greeves Competition Manager), Chris Ginn, Jim Holt, Dennis Howard, Andy Lee, Freddie Mayes, Norman Messenger and Dave Nicoll. We will also be joined by the archivist for the Eastern Region of the ACU, Sidge Kenny and a special guest star.

There will be an interval at around 8:30 pm, when light refreshments will be served.

Tickets cost £20, with proceeds going to Gee-Wizz a local children's charity, and are available if you follow this link:
